Partner

The development of Federation Grid is a long-term open-ended project, with opportunities for partners in initiatives ranging from public domain to commercial products.

Standards Development

The Federation Grid project invites collaborators to join in creating and further developing XML based languages for metamodeling, infrastructure services, and domain representation. The www.gamexml.org site supports development of these languages.

  • Meta Modeling - The metamodel language for Federation Grid is MORPH, which is derived from the IEEE Object Model Template (OMT) language defined for HLA.
  • Infrastructure Languages - The evolution of these languages are important in defining and enhancing grid services. The infrastructure languages are used by cross-domain engine developers, which provide a generic capability to multiple subject domains.
  • Domain Specific Languages - These languages are of interest to domain engine developers and are associated with Federation Grid Systems.

Software Development

Opportunities for third party development exist at several different layers of Federation Grid technology.

  • Agent Development - The Federation Grid Agent SDK provides a framework for creating MAGNETAR plugin Agents. The idea is provide an opportunity for third party development of high performance reusable AI Agents.
  • Engine Development - The Federation Grid Engine SDK provides an extensible run time infrastructure for MAGNETAR Engines. The engine developer may use existing Agent’s together with new ones.
  • System Development - The Federation Grid System SDK includes three generic engines, which may be used in developing new applications.
  • Platform Development - The Federation Grid Platform SDK provides platform developers with information models required to define a new platform.

Grid Proposals

Although Federation Grid technology is aimed towards extending functionality of existing grids there are some opportunities in creating commercial grids.

  • FederationX - Game Lobby Network is a major opportunity which envisions a global federation of game lobby and content providers.

System Proposals

These proposals represent proof-of-concept systems for Federation Grid and major commercial opportunities for partners.

  • C-Space - A very ambitious E-Learning distributed simulation proposal which was submitted to CANARIE at www.canarie.ca. The proposal predates the inception of the Federation Grid project; however it is fully compatible that architecture.
  • ExForce - A role-playing strategy game proposal.
  • Nebula - An abstract board game and puzzle system proposal.
  • Fortuna - A live casino gaming proposal.
  • Pulsar - A stock market simulation and real-time trading system.
